קורות חיים
Dr. Abed Saady received all his degrees in Medicinal Chemistry from Bar-Ilan University. B.Sc. in 2015 (with distinction), M.Sc. in 2016 (with honors), and Ph.D. in 2020 under the supervision of Professor B. Fischer. At the end of his Ph.D. (August 2020), he moved to the Technion to work with Professor S. Berlin and Professor M. Eisen on the development of a new generation of MRI contrast agent. In 2021, he moved to the University of Southampton-UK (2023, University of Birmingham-UK) as a VATAT postdoctoral fellow to work with Professor S. Goldup on the synthesis of chiral mechanically interlocked molecules MIMs, and their biological applications. In June 2024, he joined the Department of Chemistry at Bar-Ilan University as an assistant professor of organic and supramolecular chemistry.

Mechanically interlocked molecules for Biological Applications
Research in the Saady Group is driven by the development of rotaxanes for biological and medicinal applications such as prodrugs, drug delivery, MRI contrast agents and cell imaging. In particular, we target to synthesize cyclodextrin (CD)-based rotaxanes as a promising candidate to exploring the use of functional rotaxanes in biological applications.
