Chemical Research - Intern
Join us to build one of the most ambitious organic molecular libraries in the industry - tens of thousands of compounds, designed and sourced with scientific rigor to achieve an unprecedented breakthrough. We're looking for a chemistry intern who loves the intellectual side of synthesis: searching, thinking, planning, and finding what doesn't yet exist in a catalogue.
About Us
Drug discovery has barely moved in decades - not for lack of spending, but for lack of a systematic method. Medicinal chemists still work largely by intuition, and big pharma sources over 90% of its clinical candidates externally, despite billions spent internally.
We are building the first truly systematic and scalable approach to designing drug molecules for any target protein. Not AI. Not docking. Something fundamentally new - and if it works, it changes everything.
Early-stage startup with a focused, expert chemistry team
Core mission: designing and building large-scale libraries of organic molecules
A culture that values scientific depth, curiosity, and clear thinking
The Role
This is a research and planning role - no bench work. You will work alongside our experienced chemistry team to scout compounds, evaluate building blocks, map synthetic routes, and support the design of our molecular library using professional chemical databases.
Search and evaluate synthetic routes using SciFinder or related tools
Identify and assess commercial building blocks and reagents
Support retrosynthetic analysis and route selection alongside senior chemists
Assist in preparing technical briefs for CDMO partners
Maintain and organize compound data in internal tracking systems
Who We're Looking For
B.Sc. graduate in Chemistry with strong grounding in organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms, participated in an advanced organic synthesis laboratory, or M.Sc. student conducting graduate research in organic synthesis.
Strong understanding of organic mechanisms, retrosynthesis, and functional group chemistry
Familiarity with SciFinder or similar chemical databases
Ability to read and critically evaluate synthetic procedures from the literature
Organized and detail-oriented - comfortable handling large amounts of structured chemical data
Clear communicator - you'll present route proposals and sourcing options to the team
Independent and proactive: comfortable working without constant supervision
What You Get
A front-row seat to a genuinely novel approach to drug discovery
Direct mentorship from experienced synthetic chemists
Mastery of professional chemical databases and compound sourcing workflows
Flexible schedule - built around your studies
Real impact: the compounds you find and routes you propose get built
