- Development of high energy density batteries based on lithium and magnesium anodes, and intercalation cathodes.
- Development of spectroscopic methods (ex situ) for sensitive electrochemical systems, such as XPS, AES, 27Al NMR, 25Mg NMR, Raman and FTIR.
- IBA techniques: RBS, ERDA, PIXE, PIGE, NRA.
- The Electrochemistry of noble metal electrodes and reactive metals in highly conductive polymer electrolytes.
- The intercalation of lithium and magnesium into carbon and other hosts.
- Platinum single crystal electrochemistry in regard to Direct Methanol fuel cells.
- Electrochemistry in conjunction to Ultra-High-Vacuum techniques such as XPS, AES, LEED, etc.
- In-situ Electrochemistry, UV-VIS spectroscopy and Quartz crystal microgravimetric measurements in nonaqueous solutions.

Electrochemistry of nonaqueous electrolytes, ionic-conductive polymers and polymer gel electrolytes; Electrochemistry of organic electronically conducting polymers for power sources applications and electrochromic devices; in situ electrochemistry and UV-VIS spectroscopy on conducting polymers; Studies of the electronic structure of conducting polymers in the doped and neutral states.
