סיימתי תואר ראשון בהצטיינות בכימיה באוניברסיטת גלזגו (1964-68) ודוקטורט בכימיה תיאורטית באוניברסיטת אוקספורד (1968-71). לאחר מכן המשכתי לפוסט-דוקטורט בכימיה תיאורטית באוניברסיטה העברית (1971-73). בשנת 1973, הצטרפתי למחלקה לכימיה אשר באוניברסיטת בר אילן כמרצה ובשנת 2000 הועלתי לדרגת פרופסור מן המניין. בליתי שנת שבתון במכון ויצמן וכמו כן, באימפיריאל קולג' לונדון.

 

תחום המחקר שלי הוא האינטראקציה בין אור לחומר, כאשר אני עוסקת בעיקר בתחום האופטיקה לא-ליניארית וקוונטית. בקבוצת המחקר אשר תחת הנחייתי, אנו משתמשים בשיטות אנליטיות ונומריות, תוך כדי השוואה לניסויים הנעשים בתחום זה. בין הנושאים שחקרנו לאחרונה ניתן לכלול בליעה ושקיפות אלקטרומגנטית מוגברת, האטת אור ושמירת אור, יצירת דו-פוטונים במערכות מצב מוצק כגון רובי ויהלום NV, תופעות התלויות בזמן המשפיעות על הבליעה באטומי רובידיום, רוטציה מגנטו- אופטית לא ליניארית, שעונים אטומים ומגנטומטריה, דחיסת ספין וכמו כן, התקדמות של קרני אור בתווך בולע.
